PortaOne to announce new B/OSS and softswitch release (MR75)

mr_75_logoPortaOne announces maintenance release 75 for PortaSwitch®. This is the next long-life release with six software builds, the last one will be issued in November. This release focuses on facilitating overall system stability and usability and improving existing functionalities. However, it also contains the following new features:
  • Call transfer in IMS via call control API
  • Integration with Netnumber TITAN HSS
  • Manage notifications for several customer classes simultaneously
  • Protection from DoS attacks for DSBC

Call transfer in IMS via call control API

As an MVNO operating on the 4G network, you can now enable your subscribers to transfer calls from mobile phones as if from IP phones. You integrate PortaSIP® as a TAS (Telephone Application Server) in the IMS core and build your external app to communicate with PortaSwitch® via the call control API. Users can then transfer their incoming calls either blindly or without answering at all. By adding VoIP features to your mobile service portfolio you provide services which the majority of mobile carriers do not offer. This makes you more competitive in the market.

Integration with Netnumber TITAN HSS

Netnumber TITAN is a robust platform for building a converged network core. It contains a set of network core elements such as subscriber data management, policy and access control and signaling and routing applications. PortaBilling® is integrated with Netnumber TITAN HSS to provision subscriber data such as SIM card details, APN (Access Point Network) IDs and roaming profile IDs. This integration extends the range of solutions available for you to build your LTE network infrastructure. With TITAN HSS available in the cloud, you save on deployment costs and can easily scale up your network when your business increases.

Manage notifications for several customer classes simultaneously

Now administrators manage notifications for multiple customer classes and users via notification templates. This way they update several customer classes (e.g. all classes of IP Centrex customers, which differ only by payment collection policies) from a single location. A notification template contains a set of notification messages that an administrator can customize (e.g. change subject, modify content or variable set). An administrator assigns the notification template to one or several customer classes and selects which notifications to send to customers from any class. Any notification changes made in the notification template apply to all customer classes.

Protection from DoS attacks for DSBC

PortaSIP® DoS prevention functionality has been extended to monitor network traffic that arrives to the dispatching SBC from specific IP addresses and blocks it once the number of packets sent crosses a defined threshold. This increases your system security.
