Integration with Salesforce CRM
Salesforce is a full-scale cloud-based CRM platform for business process automation. Now your sales staff can retrieve complete information about a certain set of PortaBilling® customers via Salesforce (e.g. US customers who have spent over $30 on voice calls), to conduct targeted marketing campaigns, track deals, etc. Once a sale is completed, the CSR changes the customer’s product configuration (e.g. adds a newly purchased add-on product) directly from Salesforce.
Both Salesforce and PortaBilling are eTOM compliant, which enables you to optimize your existing business processes as well as create new ones according to NGOSS.
Call control API for IVR
Now you can add interactivity to your CTI solutions by enabling customers to program and use their own IVRs with PortaSwitch. For example, a visa processing center (one of your customers) develops the IVR application to announce visa status to callers and integrates it with their web site. When a caller dials the access number, PortaSwitch sends the call to the IVR associated with that customer. The IVR prompts the caller to enter their registration number, then retrieves their visa status from the external database and plays the corresponding prompt. Since the customer’s IVR communicates with PortaSwitch via the API, it can be written in any programming language. So your customers can easily and efficiently automate their repetitive tasks and manage their incoming calls. Your benefit comes from being more competitive in the marketplace and therefore, extending your customer base.
These functionalities are available on the new web GUI as of this release: CPE Inventory and profiles, Service policies for voice calls, and Messaging and Internet access services.
New OS version
PortaSwitch now uses the new version of Oracle Enterprise Linux 7.5. The improvements introduced in this version provide better performance and facilitate system security and reliability. The upgrade is done via the PortaSwitch® software management framework, so it is entirely seamless for PortaSwitch® customers and that means that no manual actions (e.g. console operations) are required on their part.
