Another Maintenance Release of PortaSwitch introduces the following new features:
- New web GUI pages
- Real-time billing of roaming GPRS users
- Gradual customer data migration from MR50x to MR60x
- Extended capabilities for on-demand DID provisioning
- Elasticsearch database backup
Real-time billing of roaming GPRS users – As an alternative to importing roaming CDRs from mobile carriers, service providers can now bill their mobile subscribers for Internet usage in real time. PortaBilling® recognizes the country and network where the subscriber is located and charges them based on the MCC / MNC code pair. Therefore, service providers can both differentiate the pricing for various countries and speed up their revenue flow.
Gradual customer data migration from MR50x to MR60x – Administrators can introduce gradual and controlled customer migration from old releases to the newest ones by using Porter. This tool supports customer data migration from MR50 to the latest builds of MR60 (i.e. MR60-4 and higher) and from MR55 to any upcoming release, up to MR64. The PortaOne Support team will gladly provide all details on transfer capabilities as well as assist with migrating your customers to more recent releases. Therefore, service providers can “jump” over to whichever desired release while introducing new functionalities to targeted groups of customers, quickly and efficiently.
Extended capabilities for on-demand DID provisioning – Now service providers can allow their users to provision both their own inventoried DIDs and those that come from external providers (DIDWW, DIDX, etc.) on-demand. In so doing, they extend their DID number supply and they boost sales.
Elasticsearch database backup – Administrators can now include the Elasticsearch database (storage for various log files and raw CDRs for xDR mediator) to the backup data, thus extending the array of data to store.
