MR38 Highlights:
- Matrix IPTV Integration
- Enhanced Backups
- Improved Self-care Portal
- DoS Attack Prevention
- New API Methods
- Secure Password Reset
Matrix IPTV Integration - PortaBilling® has been integrated with the IPTV platform from Matrix Stream for automated service provisioning. This allows service providers to add video service to their existing data and voice offerings.
Enhanced Backup Management - in order to simplify the scheduling and control of the information backup, the configuration of the backup policy is done directly from the PortaSwitch® configuration server web GUI. An administrator can select various backup frequencies and storage locations for various types of data (database, archived CDR files, custom voice prompts, etc.) and monitor the status of the last backup.
Web Self-care Portal Improvements - the refactoring and optimization of the code has been performed. As a result, the response time of the self-care portal (especially during the initial load) has been significantly improved.
DoS Attack Prevention Using Firewall - in order to make PortaSIP® servers even more resilient to DoS attacks or unintentional message flooding the message-rate control module has been redesigned. Now upon detecting an IP address which is sending a suspiciously high number of SIP messages, this IP will be blocked at the level of the built-in firewall within the operating system. Therefore, undesirable network traffic is dropped with maximum efficiency while service continues to be provided to legitimate customers.
SIP Log Viewer Improvement - to simplify call troubleshooting within complex networks where multiple PortaSIP® servers are deployed as a cluster, it is now possible to view all calls from a specific period coming from all PortaSIP® nodes. This allows you to quickly find a call even if it is not known which specific PortaSIP® node processed it.
New API Methods - new API methods have been added, and now an external application can manage data related to:
- Destinations
- Authentication Info for connections to a vendor
- Virtual environment
Secure Password Reset - the recovery procedure for a forgotten password has been enhanced in order to increase the VoIP network’s overall security and to comply with the most modern security practices. Now when a user initiates a password reset and provides valid credentials, a password reset link (instead of the actual password) is sent to the registered email address.
